Notturni di Karen LaMonte. Dialoghi Canoviani.

Museo Correr, Venice, Italy

Oct 23, 2025 - Feb 28, 2026

An intimate exhibition of four life-size Nocturnes in dialogue with the masterpieces of Antonio Canova. Considered the greatest sculptor of his age, Canova defined Neoclassicism.

The dialogue [between LaMonte and Canova] reveals two visions of art. The contrast can be understood as the difference between description and deduction. — Eraldo Mauro, Curator

This is the inaugural exhibition in the Museo Correr’s new series Dialogues with Canova, which connects past and present through sculpture.

Celestial Bodies : Sculptures

Munson Museum of Art

Closes Dec 31, 2025

This major retrospective will feature 60 sculptures, many never shown publicly before. In addition to focusing on familiar bodies of work - like the Nocturnes dresses and Floating World kimonos - the exhibition includes new cloud sculptures, historic works on paper, and early bas-relief draperies not seen in nearly two decades.

The Munson Museum of Art is a gem. Its purpose-built Philip Johnson building houses a collection filled with surprising and important works of 19th-century American art.
