Kintsugi Kimono Sculptures | Gold Repaired Ceramic

I am fascinated by the changes wrought by the passage of time and wabi-sabi, beauty that is imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. These sculptures exploded into hundreds of pieces because of a kiln error. I reassembled using an ancient Japanese technique called Kintsugi (金継ぎ) kintsukuroi (金繕い) – the art of golden repairs.
